Meningie Area School

Welcome to Meningie Area School

Meningie Area School is on Lake Albert at the entrance to the Coorong on Ngarrindjeri country. It provides education Reception to Year 12 for the local area. Students and staff enjoy modern facilities, small classes, spacious grounds including an Agriculture block, gym/hall/music complex, a nature playground and a wetland which facilitate vibrant learning. A Community Library services the school and local community. Stage 2 of the school development will see a new Administration block and Community Library completed in 2026.

Meningie has a range of industries including agriculture, fishing, retail, hospitality, and aged care. The town has a post office, medical centre, pharmacy and hospital. The local Ngarrindjeri community run a number of enterprises and instigated the award-winning Ngarrindjeri language program at the school. The town is an easy 45-minute drive to Murray Bridge which has extensive services.
