Meningie Area School

Meningie Area School has a dedicated staff with a great mix of experienced and younger staff.

Many staff attended the school and enjoy contributing to their local community. There are approximately 36 staff including 17 teachers, school support officer, an Aboriginal Education Team, and grounds staff. Our staff are committed to supporting students in their journey through school.

Meningie Area School

The school embraces the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) which equips schools with practical, classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students, including those with complex needs. The model enables the school to support students’ self-regulation, relationships, and wellbeing to increase student engagement, leading to improved learning outcomes.

The school is supported by a regional support services that includes services for educational psychology, hearing, vision, behaviour, special needs. These staff support the school in accessing funding, programs, and individualised support for students.

Principal

The current principal, Fiona Haselgrove is an experienced leader having completed 8 years as Deputy Principal at Victor Harbor High School and 5 years as Principal at Yorketown Area School. Fiona enjoys the community of an area school where students can follow their learning journey through one site, the opportunity for shared experiences across year levels and the sharing of expertise across primary and secondary.
